DSDS: First-ever season candidate gets gold CD from Dieter Bohlen

Cologne/Rangsdorf - After 19 years, the first season of the singing show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" is to be re-recorded, and the first candidate has already received the coveted golden ticket to the recall from the pop titan Dieter Bohlen.

On February 11, 2023, at the "Casting Spezial" of the popular RTL show, Bohlen was so enthusiastic about the performance of the 22-year-old Dominik Simmen from Rangsdorf near Berlin that he gave him the golden CD after his performance of the Coldplay hit "Clocks".

The Swiss national, who lives in Germany, immediately secured his place in the recall and thus has the unique opportunity to travel to the Maldives with Dieter Bohlen and Pietro Lombardi, among others.

"You're a really good singer," Bohlen praised Simmen after his performance. "You have a great voice, you can sing really well, and you have a great stage presence."

The 22-year-old, who works as a waiter in a restaurant, has been singing since he was a child and has already taken part in various talent shows. He is particularly proud to have received the golden CD from Dieter Bohlen.

"It was a great feeling," says Simmen. "I'm so happy that I got the golden CD. It's a great honor for me, and I'm really looking forward to the recall."
