WSSU Football Set to Play Ohio Dominican for Home Opener Saturday Night

The Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Rams football team will open their 2023 season at home on Saturday, September 2nd, against the Ohio Dominican University Panthers. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC. WSSU is coming off a 7-4 season in 2022, in which they finished second in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division. The Rams return several key players from last year's team, including senior quarterback Khalon Davis and senior wide receiver Donovan Green. Ohio Dominican is coming off a 6-5 season in 2022, in which they finished third in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The Panthers return several key players from last year's team, including senior quarterback Jake Bishop and senior wide receiver Jalin Jackson. The game between WSSU and Ohio Dominican is expected to be a close one. Both teams have several talented players and are looking to start the season with a win.
